Manny Gore’s Story
Filmed and photographed in 2025, this visual project is part of a growing series of health journey stories my team and I are developing at B. Braun Medical. Nurse Stephanie Pitts, who works closely with Manny Gore and his family, asked if I would assemble a short documentary to share at an upcoming Association for Vascular Access conference.
My involvement included:
Conducting pre-interviews, researching, planning and coordinating the project
Booking travel, preparing and traveling solo with equipment
Setting up, lighting and conducting interviews
Taking photos and recording all interviews and b-roll footage
Obtaining family photos to be included in the video
Editing the video story and all photos
Leading the review and approval process before publishing
The Global Social Impact Fellowship
Behind the Scenes
In addition to serving as Lehigh University's videographer, I advised students who were interested in visual storytelling. One group I mentored was telling a story about maternal death rates in Sierra Leone. I helped teach them fundamental video, research and preparation skills. Later, I successfully pitched my department on building a story of my own on the fellowship. I traveled with the students and guided their project while also filming their fieldwork and that of other student groups. Finally, I was allowed to have a production assistant with me in country. I brought my husband since we work seamlessly together and since he knows and understands my creative process.
My involvement included:
Researching, planning and coordinating the video
Conducting pre-interviews and filming prior to travel
Booking travel, preparing and traveling with equipment
Setting up, lighting and conducting interviews in the field
Taking photos and recording interviews and b-roll footage
Coordinating with production assistant in country for better coverage of events
Mentoring students before, during and after travel
Helping students set up interviews and advising on best practices
Helping students edit footage for their project
Editing video and photos and writing a short story for university publications
Leading the review and approval process before publishing

My involvement included:
Researching, planning, storyboarding and coordinating the project
Contacting sources, scheduling and coordinating interviews
Booking travel for interviews, preparing and traveling with equipment
Setting up, lighting and conducting interviews in the field
Taking photos and recording interviews and b-roll footage
